FOR MCR

TREASURER

TRANSPERANCY & COMMUNICATION

Let our MCR environment reflect the freedoms, open communication, fact-based learning, and equitable treatment for all that are the founding principles of our Republic. Let the voices of inclusiveness ring through our halls, and let our meetings reflect an efficient and transparent system that produces citizens and leaders in the best democratic traditions.

Creating More Access to Information

  • Creating regular reports on MCR’s finances to allow all students to easily access information on where funding is going in our county.

  • Sending out updates and information on plausible opportunities for resource and funding allocation to allow students a voice in where our finances are going.

  • Ensuring opportunities are made available to both high school and middle school students from across the county through allocating funding to the communities most in need of resources and opportunities.

  • Collaborating with MCJC to organize school visits to get students involved in advocacy earlier on.

  • Collaborating more actively with student clubs and organizations.

  • Creating events and meetings publicizing targeted grant programs for organization and clubs.

  • Explaining the rolling application process to students in greater detail.

  • Bridging the gap between task force members and executive board members.

  • Reaching out more actively to teachers and coaches to have them push out information to the student population.

  • Creating a chart detailing the best communication point for each school to ensure MCR information reaches the student body as a whole.

  • Making student voices more effective through the restructuring of our current executive board to foster more conversations through task forces and let communication flow throughout the student body.

  • Increasing collaboration and communication between officers and all other executive board members and task force members.

  • Implementing regular email and social media updates on meetings, decisions, and other topics pertinent to the student community..

  • Increasing leadership opportunities for all students to be invested and included in the organization’s processes through targeted communication with underrepresented schools.
